Updated 17 October 2026 · Buyer FAQ · Reading time ~9 min

This page answers the practical questions resellers ask before opening a wholesale account - what the minimum order is per range, how volume pricing is structured, how colour and size are controlled across a repeat order, and how goods are packed and delivered.

WOOLORA supplies finished crochet ranges to wholesalers, gift distributors and marketplace sellers, backed by an artisan network of 30,000+ certified makers across four Chinese provinces and a TUV Rheinland-audited factory. The answers below describe how the wholesale programme actually runs.

Order terms

Wholesale is sold by range rather than by single unit, so a first order can hold several designs without inflating the total. Minimums are set per design, and mixing designs inside one category to reach the minimum is allowed.

Ranges & pricing

Price moves with volume, yarn choice and the amount of hand work per unit. The ranges available for wholesale today are crochet flowers and bouquets, crochet bags and raffia totes, plush animals and dolls, and small accessory ranges.

Delivery & packaging

Bulk orders run 15-30 days after sample approval against a fixed weekly handover day, with a stated cut-off date ahead of peak season. Because crochet is bulky for its weight, packaging changes the landed cost more than the freight rate does: OPP vacuum compression typically reduces transport volume by around half and is worth requesting explicitly.

Shipment is offered as DDP door-to-door to 50+ countries with duties and last-mile delivery included, or FOB and CIF if you prefer your own forwarder. Yarn used in the toy ranges is available with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification - see OEKO-TEX certified yarn supply.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for wholesale crochet?

From 100 sets for plush animals and dolls, and from 200 pieces for crochet flowers, bags and small accessories. Minimums are set per design, and you can mix designs within a single category to reach the threshold, which keeps a first test order small.

How is wholesale pricing structured?

Pricing is quoted at your target quantity. Three variables move the number: order volume, yarn choice, and the amount of hand work in a unit. The same design therefore carries a different unit price at 200 pieces and at 2,000, and the quotation shows the tier you are being quoted against.

Is there a sample charge?

Yes, samples are charged at cost with a short lead time, and the sample cost is credited back against the first bulk order of that design. Sampling protects both sides: you see the finish before committing, and we do not carry speculative hand work.

How fast can a first wholesale order ship?

Bulk production runs 15-30 days after sample approval, with a fixed weekly handover day. A colour or yarn change on an existing range takes about one working day. Orders ahead of Christmas or other peak windows should be booked against a stated cut-off date.

Can I reorder a design and get exactly the same colour?

Yes. Colourways are locked at sampling and a retained reference sample anchors every repeat order. Because crochet is made from dyed yarn rather than printed material, matching a repeat order is a batch-control task, and the retained sample is how it is verified.

Do you offer private label for resellers?

Yes. We can apply your own brand tag, packaging and barcode, and prepare cartons for Amazon FBA, Etsy or retail handover. Both OEM - to your specification - and ODM - from your concept - are supported.

How are the goods packed?

OPP vacuum compression is used by default on bulky ranges because crochet is light but voluminous; it typically reduces transport volume by around half and lowers the landed cost materially. Retail-ready packing is available when you need goods to arrive shelf-ready.

Which countries do you ship to?

DDP door-to-door covers 50+ countries with duties and last-mile delivery included up front, so the landed cost is known before you commit. FOB, CIF and EXW terms are also available if you prefer to use your own freight forwarder.

What yarn is used, and is it certified?

Cotton and cotton blends are standard, with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified yarn available on request, particularly for baby and children's ranges. Certification documents are supplied with the order documentation.

Are the ranges tested for toy safety?

Textile crochet toys are tested to EN71 for the EU and ASTM F963 for the United States, with a 90N pull-force standard applied to attached parts - above the EN71 requirement. This matters for gift and children's ranges, where detached small parts are the most common failure in the category.

How many artisans produce the goods?

A network of 30,000+ certified artisans across four Chinese provinces, distributed over multiple production bases with monthly output tracking. Volume is limited by hands rather than machines, so multiple bases are what keep large programmes on schedule.

How do I open a wholesale account?

Send your business details, the ranges you are interested in and your target volume. You receive a quotation within 24 hours including unit price at your volume and an indicative landed cost. A sample follows once the design and yarn are agreed.
